A Upstate Affair

Pairs well with:

Zinfandel

Bright and full-bodied, this Zinfandel wine is a curious contradiction in tastes.

Ingredients

Patties
1 1/2 pounds ground black angus
1/2 pound Johnsanville ground hot italian sausage
1/2 Cup Sutter home Zifandale wine
2 Tablespoons of Weber grill creations Gourmet burger

Apple/ Cabbage slaw
2 Large cortland apples. ( or any crisp type you like)
1/2 Cup raw cole slaw mix
Juice from half a lemon
1/2 Cup chopped green onions
1/2 Cup mayo
1/2 Tablespoon Weber creations Garlic and Herb

Weber nonstick grill spray
6 slices of New York extra sharp chedder cheese
6 Potatoe burger rolls. ( I prefer Martins)
Ketchup if you desire

Good company and a nice bottle of wine.=)

 

Instructions

First assemble the apple cabbage slaw.
Peel and grate the apples in a medium sized bowl. Once done sqeeze out any excess juice into the sink.
Sqeeze the juice from half of a lemon onto the apple, mix. Add the cole slaw mix.
Chop the green onions and add to mixture. Add garlic and herb seasoing. Mix with mayo and refriderate untill burgers are ready.

Spray grill with nonstick spray.
Preheat gas grill on high while assembling patties

Assemble hamburger patties. Empty beef and ground sausage into a medium sized bowl. Mix together well. Add gourmet burger spice and mix well. Shape into six hamburger patties.

Cook burgers on med-high setting about seven minutes on each side for medium well. Once burgers are cooked turn off gas and put on chedder cheese and close lid to melt.

Once done put burger on bun with a serving of apple/cabbage slaw. Depending on your taste add a dash of ketchup too.
