Apple Turkey Burgers

Ingredients

1 1/2 pound ground turkey
3 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 Granny Smith apple, cored and grated
1/2 teaspooon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1 Granny Smith apple, cored and sliced 1/2 inch crosswise
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
6 hamburger buns, split and toasted

 

Instructions

1. Combine ground turkey, cilantro, ground cumin, grated apple, salt and pepper in large bowl. 2. Shape mixture into six 1-inch thick patties. 3. Grill turkey burgers on medium high heat 4 to 5 minutes per side or until 160 degrees F on meat thermometer. 4. While the burgers are cooking, brush the apple slices on both sides with the vegetable oil and grill until golden, about two minutes on each side. 5. To serve, place burgers on toasted buns and top with one apple slide.
