Artichoke Turkey Burger

Pairs well with:

White Zinfandel

With strawberry and melon essences, this American original is perfectly at home with however you like to unwind.

A less fattening and healthier alternative burger with lots of flavor.

Ingredients:

2 pounds Louis Rich ground turkey

1/2 cup artichoke hearts marinated in oil drained and chopped (or 6 ounce jar)

1/2 teaspoon coarse kosher salt

1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped

2 teaspoons mesquite liquid smoke

2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

4 teaspoons McCormick Grill Mates Montreal Steak Marinade dry mix

2 teaspoons Dijon mustard

2 teaspoons hoisin sauce

1 cup reduced fat shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup Hungry Jack potato flakes

1 teaspoon Marsala cooking wine

1 teaspoon sherry cooking wine

1/4 cup Sutter Home White Zinfandel wine

1 teaspoon onion powder

6 Slimwiches or flat (thin) reduced calorie buns

6 crispy leaves of Romaine lettuce

6 tomato slices

6 onion slices

1 cup Hellman Light Mayonnaise

Instructions:

Mix meat and all ingredients excluding onion powder, incorporating 3-4 ingredients at a time.

Form mixture into round patties.

Sprinkle patties evenly with onion powder.

Cover and refrigerate patties for 45minutes to 1 hour.

Remove patties from refrigerator and cook on charcoal grill at 350-375 for about 1 hour turning as needed.

Remove from grill. Let rest slightly.

Spread teaspoon of light mayonnaise on bottom bun, cover with slice of tomato and lettuce leaf.

Place turkey patty on top and cover with slice of onion.

Spread another teaspoon of light mayonnaise on top bun and place on top of onion and turkey patty.
