Autumn Harvest Burger


1 large Golden Delicious apple – peeled, cored, and finely chopped
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
2 tablespoons blue cheese – crumbled
2-1/2 pounds ground chuck
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Vegetable oil for grill
1/2 cup softened butter
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Pinch salt
6 French rolls – split in half



In an 8-inch foil tin combine apple, 1 tablespoon butter, pumpkin pie spice, and granulated sugar. Place on grill on medium-high heat with lid closed and cook for thirty minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and add blue cheese.

Combine ground chuck with salt and pepper. Form into 12 very thin patties. Place 1/6 of apple mixture on 6 of the patties, top with remaining patties, and seal around edges.

Oil grill. Place patties on grill. Cook for 10 minutes on medium-high heat with lid closed. Flip and cook for an additional 10 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160 degrees.

Combine butter, Italian seasoning, and salt. Place split rolls on grill split side down until lightly toasted. Remove and spread with butter mixture. Top with burgers.
