Backyard Burgers


1.5 pounds lean ground beef
1/3 cup uncooked quick oats
1/4 cup bottled BBQ sauce
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 tbsp minced garlic
1/2 tsp black pepper

Nonstick spray for grill rack

6 Wheat and Fiber buns
6 tsp Dijon mustard
6 slices cheese
6 large tomato slices
Salt & pepper to taste for tomato slices
6 pieces romaine lettuce



Lightly mix first 6 ingredients. Form into 6 patties.

Spray rack of hot grill with nonstick cooking spray.

Grill patties 7-8 minutes per side. Remove from grill and place buns on grill rack for 1-2 minutes to lightly warm/toast.

Spread each bun with 1 tsp Dijon mustard, add hamburger pattie then top with 1 slice cheese, 1 slice tomato and 1 piece of romaine.
