Balsamic Glazed Bruscetta Burgers

This rich red easily complements your homemade chicken dishes, red meats, game, and mildly seasoned pastas.

Ingredients

1/4 cup chopped,fresh basil
1 (14 oz)small can of finely diced tomatoes, drained
2 1bs ground sirloin
1 egg
1 TBSP Olive oil
1/4 Cup plain,dried bread crumbs
1/2 TBSP Salt
1/4 1b fresh mozzarella
2 Cups balsamic vinegar, reduced
garlic infused olive oil
5 Ciabata Rolls

 

Instructions

Chop 1/4 C of fresh basil, place in a mixing bowl. Drain 1 small can (14oz)of finely diced tomatoes and add to mixing bowl. Add 2lbs ground sirloin to mixing bowl. Add 1 egg to bowl Add 1 tbsp olive oil to bowl Add 1/4 Cup plain,dried bread crumbs to bowl Add 1/2 tbsp salt to bowl Mix all these ingredients by hand, and form into 1/2lb patties (makes 5 patties) Cut 1/4 lb fresh mozzarella into 5 chunks, place in center of pattie Grill burgers… In the meantime, place 1/4 C olive oil in a sauce pan with 3 cloves smashed garlic. Heat until you can smell the garlic…this infuses the oil. Bast Ciabata rolls with garlic infused olive oil. Toast on the grill or in the oven. Measure 2 Cups balsamic vinegar, pour in preheated skillet, and allow to reduce until it has formed a thick glaze. Once burgers are finished, 10 minutes per side,(on an electric grill) for well done burgers, Place on toasted Ciabata roll, spoon balsamic glaze on top of burger, and serve with lettuce, tomatoe, and red onion on the side.
