BBQ M Ham & Burger

My late father

Ingredients:

1 1/2 lb ground beef
1tsp pepper
1/4 cup plain bread crumbs
1 egg
1/4 Merlot wine
1/2 cup barbecue sauce (regular)
3 slices ham
6 hard rolls (Kaiser)
6 slices of Cheddar cheese
6 slices tomato
6 slices onion
6 leaves of lettuce
2 kosher pickles

Instructions:

Mix ground beef with pepper, egg, bread crumbs, Merlot wine, and 1/4 cup of barbecue sauce
Make 6 patties
Pan-fry over medium heat approx 8 minutes on both side for medium or until meat is done as you like it.
Heat 3 slices of ham with cheese on the top
Place 1/2 slice ham and cheese on each of the burgers
spoon remaining barbecue sauce on each of the burgers
Place lettuce on the bottom of roll
Place the burger on the lettuce
Garnish with the tomato, onion and pickle wedge on the side
