Beefy Onion Stroganoff Burgers

This rich red easily complements your homemade chicken dishes, red meats, game, and mildly seasoned pastas.


1 lb. ground beef with 20% fat
1 envelope Onion soup mix
1 4 oz. can stems and pieces mushrooms drained
2 tablespoons butter
4 oz. of water
1 8oz. sour cream
1 tsp. corn starch mixed with 1 tablespoon water
1/2 tsp. black pepper
4 Kaiser rolls
vegetable oil for brushing on the grill rack



Prepare grill: Preheat a gas grill to medium high heat. Prepare burgers: Combine 1/2 envelope of onion soup mix with 1 lb. ground beef. Mix well. Separate into 4 – 1/4 lb. burgers. Prepare sauce: On the stove, in a medium saucepan, add mushrooms and 4 oz. butter. Saute the mushrooms for a few minutes. Then add water, sour cream and remaining soup mix. Mix well. Cook on low heat for 5 minutes. Add corn starch and stir until thickened. Cooking burgers: Brush the grill rack with oil. Cook burgers until medium/well done. 3 minutes on each side. Season with 1/8 tsp. pepper on each burger. Place on plate. Grill rolls until lightly browned. To assemble: Spoon some sauce on both sides of grilled roll and place burger in-between. Enjoy!!!
