Ingredients

• 2 pounds lean ground chuck beef
• ½ cup pickled jalapeno pepper slices
• 8 oz. blue cheese (to be split 6 ways)
• 1/4 teaspoon ground black or seasoned pepper
• 6 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
• 4 tablespoons butter
• 1 tablespoon lemon juice
• 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary
• 6 whole wheat hamburger buns, split and toasted
• 6 large thin slices grilled onion
• 2 medium tomatoes, sliced
• 6 leaves lettuce, romaine or your favorite
• Mayonnaise Spread

Instructions

PREPARATION: In a pan melt the butter, add rosemary, lemon, and Worcestershire. Combine butter mixture with the lean ground beef in a large bowl, add pickled jalapeno slices and pepper. Knead the meat until it is well mixed. As you are building the patties put a hunk of the blue cheese inside the center of the patty. Preheat broiler or grill, then cook burgers about 4 inches from heat, turning when halfway done, the cheese should permeate the patty. Burgers should cook until very little or no pink remains. Toast the whole wheat buns, spread mayonnaise as desired. Top each bun with a hamburger patty, grilled onions, a tomato slice, and lettuce leaf. Serves 6 Burgers.
