Bob’s Recumbent Chocolate Barbecue Bison Burger

This rich red easily complements your homemade chicken dishes, red meats, game, and mildly seasoned pastas.


2 pounds bison
2 tablespoons Sutter Cabernet Sauvignon
1 teaspoon Grey Poupon
2 teaspoons double chocolate cocoa powder
2 tablespoons barbecue sauce
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon Worchestershire sauce
t teaspoon pepper 
1 package kaiser buns 
2 avocados, mashed
sliced tomatoes
fresh arugula



Combine all ingredients, and allow to sit refrigerated for two hours. Turn on barbecue grill to hottest setting. Divide meat into six 3/4-inch patties. Place patties on grill, one minute on each side. Turn grill heat to low, and cook to desired temperature. Ten minutes per side should make meat medium well. For the last two or three minutes, put buns on top of meat to heat and moisten. Remove buns from gill and add remaining ingredients.
