Boston Ale Beef Burgers

1/2 lb. Sharp Cheddar Cheese shredded
2 teaspoons cornstarch
2 cloves garlic minced
1 cup Boston Lager Beer
2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
Freshly ground pepper
1 1/2 lbs fresh ground chuck
4 Whole Grain Hamburger buns
2 Tbs sweet butter
Vegetable Oil for brushing
tomato slices
lettuce leaves
red onion thinly sliced



Mix the cheese and cornstarch together. Put the minced garlic and lager in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil. Add the cheese in 1/2 cups increments, stirring until melted. Add the mustard, season with salt and pepper and simmer over moderate heat until thickened, approximately 2-3 minutes. Mix 1 Tsp salt into ground chuck and form into 4 burgers. Brush the buns with melted butter. Light grill and when medium hot, oil the grate. Grill burgers for 10 minutes. Turn once. Remove burgers and toast buns for approximately 1 minute. Put lettuce, tomato and onion slices on bottom of the bun top burger with cheese sauce.
