Breakfast Buffet Burger

Pairs well with:

White Merlot

Imagine sipping a lighter Merlot. This fresh, pale-pink wine is a nice change from traditional red or white wines.


1 lb. breakfast sausage
1 lb. sweet Italian sausage, loose
2 c. cooked shredded potato
2 T. brown sugar
1/2 c. sour cream
8 oz. softened cream cheese
2 T. softened butter
1/4 c. strawberry jam
12 bacon strips
6 large eggs
1/2 t. salt
1/2 t. pepper
1 c. sliced sweet onion
1large red apple, skin on, sliced
1/4 c. maple syrup
12 frozen pancakes
6 slices cheddar cheese



Combine sausages, potato, brown sugar and sour cream. Form into six patties. Cook over medium heat.

In a small bowl, combine cream cheese, butter and jam. Set aside.

In a frying pan, cook bacon. Remove from pan. Set aside. In bacon grease, fry eggs, seasoning with salt and pepper. Remove from pan and set aside.

In frying pan, in remaining grease, saute onions and apples with maple syrup.

Heat pancakes. Top half with cheese. Spread other half with cream cheese mixture.

Assemble: place burger on cream cheesed pancake. Top with egg, bacon, and onion mixture. Top with cheddared pancake, cheese side down.
