Burger Gone Greek

Pairs well with:

Pinot Noir

Every pour of our Pinot Noir brings you a delicious blend of berry flavors and the romantic aroma of violet.

I am always trying to conquer new recipes for alternative burgers and this is the one that came to mind when I thought of “ground lamb”.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 pounds ground lamb
1 cup feta cheese (crumbled fine)
1/3 cup pitted kalamata olives (diced)
1/3 cup red onion (minced)
1/4 cup Nikki’s greek dressing
6 tablespoons tzatziki sauce
6 large tomato slices (not too thick)
24 baby spinach leaves (stems removed)
6 whole wheat hamburger buns

Instructions:

1. Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat, and lightly oil the grate.
2. Place the lamb in a large bowl and add in the feta cheese, kalamata olives, red onion and the greek dressing. Mix well and shape into six patties.
3. Place patties on grill. Grill burgers for 7 minutes on each side.
4. Top each burger with 4 baby spinach leaves, one large tomato slice and a tablespoon of tzatziki sauce and serve them on a whole wheat bun.
