Cheesey Turkey Burgers

Pairs well with:

Reach for our Chardonnay when you’re in the mood for a rich and creamy wine that delights with the fruity flair of pear, apple, and peach.

2 lb ground turkey
1/2 cup white sweet diced onions
2 tbs. Sutter Home Chardonnay
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
4 whole roasted red peppers, halved (I use the ones from the jar…) 8 slices ounces mozzarella cheese

I like to wipe my grill with a little bit of extra virgin olive oil but you could use non stick cooking spray before firing it up. Mix turkey, onion, wine, vinegar, oregano, salt and black pepper in a bowl until just combined. Form into patties. I like to sear the patties a little on each side and then turn the heat down and cook them for about 4 minutes on each side, turning gingerly. On the final flip you top them with the cheese and peppers and cook just until the cheese starts to melt — don't over cook.
