Chipotle & Red Pepper Burgers

This rich red easily complements your homemade chicken dishes, red meats, game, and mildly seasoned pastas.


Smokey Red Pepper Sauce:
1 jar of roasted red peppers
½ cup roasted red pepper brine, reserved
8 ounces cream cheese
2 garlic cloves
2 tablespoons chipotle pepper sauce
2 pounds ground beef
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons pepper
2 teaspoons freeze dried basil
3 teaspoons vegetable oil
1/2 jar of roasted red peppers
6 ciabatta hamburger buns



In food processor, blend 1 jar of roasted red peppers, brine, cream cheese, garlic and chipotle pepper sauce. Set aside. In large bowl combine ½ of smokey red pepper sauce, ground beef, salt, pepper and basil. Mix well. Shape into 6 patties. Grease grill with oil. Grill burgers over low heat for 20-30 minutes. Grill remaining roasted red peppers and place on patties. Grill buns until warm. Spread remaining red pepper mixture over buns. Place burger on top and serve.
