Chocolate Burgers with Fresh Strawberries, Goat Cheese and Spinach

Ingredients

6 Tablespoons water
6 Tablespoons cocoa powder
2 1/4 teaspoon salt
14 oz fresh strawberries
6 soft Kaiser buns (approx 2 1/2 oz each)
9 tablespoons soft goat cheese
30 leaves of baby spinach
Vegetable oil for grill

 

Instructions

Start gas grill and bring to medium heat.

Mix water and cocoa powder until well combined.

Add salt and cocoa powder mixture to ground beef. Mix to combine.

Divide ground beef mixture into six portions, form into patties.

Clean and dry strawberries, remove stems and slice into approximately 1/8 inch thick slices.

Take soft Kaiser buns and spread with 3/4 tablespoon of goat cheese on the inside of the top half of each bun; spread 3/4 tablespoon on the inside of the bottom half of each bun.

Place 5 leaves of baby spinach on the inside of the bottom half of each Kaiser bun.

Brush hot grill rack with vegetable oil.

Place patties on grill. Cook for five minutes on the first side with grill lid open, flip and cook for four additional minutes with grill lid open.

Remove from grill and let rest on plate, covered with foil for 2 minutes.

Place patties on top of bottom half of Kaiser bun.

Place two ounces of sliced strawberries on top of each patty.

Place top half of bun on top of strawberries.

Serve immediately.
