Crabby Burgers

Pairs well with:

White Zinfandel

With strawberry and melon essences, this American original is perfectly at home with however you like to unwind.


1/2 pound of fresh crab meat
1- 1/2 tablespoons horseradish
1/4 teaspoon of salt
a few dashes of hot sauce
1 to 2 teaspoons of fresh lemon juice
3/4 cup of mayonnaise
1/2 cups of grated cheddar or swiss cheese
4 lbs. Ground Round
1 Tablespoons seafood seasoning 
extra cheese to top burgers if you like
1/2 cup mayo,
juice of 1/2 lime,
1/2 tsp. lime peel and 1/4 cup sour cream until well blended
lettuce leaves for garnish



Gently toss together first 7 ingredients, then form into 6 equal size patties and set aside in refrigerator for 5-10 minutes. Meanwhile mix the ground round and seafood seasoning together and form 12 equal size patties. Place the crab pattie on top of one ground round pattie then top with another ground pattie. Seal the 2 beef patties together to form a seal around the crab mixture. Repeat with the rest of the burgers. Place the burgers on a greased grill about 4 inches above hot coals. Grill about 10 to 15 minutes per side, or until juices run clear. For a wonderful topping mix together 1/2 cup mayo, juice of 1/2 lime, 1/2 tsp.lime peel and 1/4 cup sour cream until well blended (this can be made the night before. Serve with toasted "high quality" hamburger buns, and traditional toppings like tomatoes, lettuce, and onions.
