Curried Lamb Burgers with Raita Topping

1 1/4 cups plain, whole milk yogurt
1 cup seeded and diced cucumber
1 tablespoon chopped fresh mint
1 1/2 pounds ground lamb
1/2 cup fresh bread crumbs
1 egg
1/4 cup finely chopped white onion
1/2 tablespoon fresh grated ginger root
2 cloves garlic finely minced
1 teaspoon curry powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
vegetable oil for the grill
6 kaiser rolls



Light charcoal grill. In medium bowl, mix yogurt, cucumber and mint. Cover and refridgerate until ready to use. In a large bowl, mix the ground lamb,bread crumbs,egg,onion,ginger root,garlic,curry powder,cumin and cinnamon until well combined. Shape into 6 patties. When coals are glowing and no longer flamming, wipe grill down with the vegetable oil. Griil lamb patties 4 minutes per side. Split kaiser rolls and grill face down just until lightly toasted. About a minute. Place one patty on each of the rolls and top each with some of the raita. Enjoy!
