English Muffin Teriyaki Burgers

Ingredients

2 lbs ground chuck,
1/2 cup raw diced red onion,
4 tbsp teriyaki marinade,
1/2 tsp ground black pepper,
1 pkg english muffins.
Toppings:
4-6 slices of american or swiss cheese,
1/2 head of iceberg or romaine lettuce made into slices,
1 whole tomato cut into slices,
mayonaise,
grey poupon mustard,
sandwich pickles.

 

Instructions

Spray gas or charcoal grill with oil based cooking spray to coat. Pre-heat grill to medium high. To make burger mixture,Combine ground beef, red onion, teriyaki marinade, fresh ground pepper, and 1 whole uncooked english muffin broken into small pieces. Mix together with both hands to be sure mixture is well blended and moist. Make into burger patties. Place on heated grill and cook about 8 minutes on each side. Be sure not to overcook or burgers will be dry. Once cooked add cheese and close lid so it can melt for about 1 minute. Toast remaining english muffins to a light crisp. Place burgers on bottom half of muffin. On top half, add mayonaise, ketchup, grey poupon mustard, 1 slice of lettuce, tomato and pickle. Place on top of burger and serve..
