Fried Green Tomatoes with “Ham”Burger

1 lb. Bacon – Sliced & Diced
1 Yellow Onion – Sliced & Diced
1 cup of mayonnaise
1/2 cup of prepared medium heat salsa
1 T. Seasoned Salt
3 medium green tomatoes – sliced
1 egg – beaten
3/4 cup of buttermilk
1 & 1/2 LB. Ground Chuck
1 cup of Bacon,Onion,Salsa Mayonnaise
Vegetable Oil for brushing on the grill rack
4 Large Hamburger Deli Buns



*Prepare a medium hot fire in a charcoal grill with a cover or preheat a gas grill to medium high *In a fire proof frying skillet on the grill rack cook the bacon & onion until crisp. Drain the bacon & onion, reserving the bacon grease in the skillet for frying the tomatoes. Leave the skillet with grease on the grill rack to keep grease hot. *Mix the bacon,onion,salsa and mayonnaise together and set aside for later use in & on the burger. *Mix together the egg & buttermilk together in a bowl and add the green tomato slices. *In another bowl place the "SEASONED FLOUR". Carefully take the green tomato slices one at a time from egg mixture and dip into KY.Kernal Flour on both sides. Place green tomatoes into the hot bacon grease and fry till a golden brown on both sides. Drain and keep warm on edge of grill for the final assemble. *To make patties combine the ground chuck,1 cup of bacon,onion,salsa mayonnaise and 1/4 cup of Seasoned Flour in a large bowl handling the meat as little as possible. Divide into 4 equal portion and formed patties. *Brush the grill when ready with the vegetable oil. Place the patties on the grill rack and cover. Cook the patties for 6 to 9 minutes per side turning only once. *During the last few minutes of cooking,brush each side of the cut buns with the bacon,onion,salsa mayonnaise and place on the outer edges to warm and toast lightly. *To assemble the burgers,spread a good amount of the bacon,onion,salsa mayonnaise on the top bun. Place the burger on the bun bottom,topping with 2 – 3 slices of the fried green tomatoes. Add the top bun and Serve.
