Garner’s Cabernet Onion Burgers

Cabernet Sauvignon

This rich red easily complements your homemade chicken dishes, red meats, game, and mildly seasoned pastas.


4 large yellow onions (Texas 1015 if possible)
1 T Calovita Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 bottle (less 1/2 cup) Cabernet Savignon
2 pound ground Angus Beef chuck
1/4 cup of Sutter Home Cabernet Savignon
1 T Grey Poupon Dijon Mustard
2 T  Steak Sauce
1 t salt
1 t fresh ground pepper
8 slices of sharp cheedar cheese
8 large hamburger buns
1 t butter
1 t Grey Poupon Dijon Mustard
2 ripe Haas Califonia Avocados



Cut up 4 large onions into rings. Saute in Calovita Olive Oil until translucent. Add the remaining amount of Sutter Home Cabernet Savignon. Simmer over low heat until absorbed. Add 6 ingredients. Shape into 8 patties. Grill until done to preferred temperature. Top with Cheddar Cheese and grill until melted. Spread buns with butter and heat on grill. Spread grilled buns with Grey Poupon Dijon Mustard. Add cooked onions and sliced California Haas Avocado.
