Gewurztraminer

Hard to pronounce yet easy to drink, this wine combines lychee fruit and white peach flavors with a hint of spice.

Ingredients

2 green onions
5 ounces goat cheese soft
3 teaspoons “Sutter Home” Gewurztraminer wine
1 medium tomato
1 small head Bibb lettuce
2 pounds ground turkey
12 green seedless grapes
1 small yellow pepper
6 cloves garlic
Fresh basil enough to chop
3 tablespoons Fresh cilantro enough to chop
2 tablespoons
½ cup pure maple syrup
½ teaspoon ground fresh nutmeg oil for grill, peanut or other high temperature
6 Kaiser buns

 

Instructions

Preheat grill to medium high per manufacturers directions. Finely chop green onions. In a bowl mix together green onions, goat cheese and wine and refrigerate till ready to grill. Thinly slice tomatoes, refrigerate till ready to grill. Remove leaves from lettuce in preparation for using on each bottom bun and refrigerate till ready to grill. Add ground turkey to a large mixing bowl. Cut grapes in half lengthwise. Cut each half in half again carefully working from pulp side. Rotate ninety degrees and cut in half or if there more elongated thirds, add to ground turkey. Cuts ends off pepper remove core and finely chopped and add to ground turkey. Finely chopped garlic and add to ground turkey. Finely chopped basil and add to ground turkey. Finely chopped cilantro and add to ground turkey. Pour maple syrup over ground turkey. Grind nutmeg and sprinkle over ground turkey. Mix ingredients and divide into six equal parts. Form each into patties. Coat grill rack with oil. Place patties on oiled area and grill until brown, 5 to 7 minutes. Turn patties over and grill until done, 5 to 8 minutes. In the last few minutes of grilling place buns cut side down on the outer edge of rack to toast lightly. Also spread a generous helping of the goat cheese spread on each patty. When grilling is complete place a layer of lettuce on bottom part of each bun. Place patty on lettuce then 2 to 3 slices of tomato (depending on how thin you could get the tomato ). Cover with top bun and serve.
