Grande French Fry Nacho Burger

Ingredients

  • Cheese Sauce:
  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 2 Tablespoons flour
  • 1 1/2 Cups milk
  • 1/8 Teaspoon nutmeg, freshly ground
  • 1/4 Teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 Teaspoon pepper
  • 1 Cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded Toppings:
  • 6 Handfuls (about 6 cups) store bought French fries
  • 6 Bacon slices, diced small
  • 1/2 Cup red onion, diced small
  • 1/2 Cup scallion (green parts), chopped
  • 1 Large tomato, diced small
  • 3 Jalapeno peppers, sliced thin
  • 1 1/2 Cups romaine lettuce, sliced small
  • 3/4 Cup sour cream Burger:
  • 3 Pounds ground chuck beef 80/20
  • 3/4 Pound ground sausage meat
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons chili powder
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 12 Slices pepper jack cheese
  • 6 Kaiser rolls

Instructions

  • 1. In a medium size sauce pan, melt butter, whisk in flour and cook on medium heat for a couple of minutes
  • 2. Slowly whisk in milk, continuing to whisk until thickened
  • 3. Stir in salt, pepper, nutmeg and cheese
  • 4. Continue to cook until cheese has melted
  • 5. Place French fries on a cookie sheet and cook according to package directions
  • 6. In a large frying pan, cook bacon on both sides on medium-high heat until browned and crispy
  • 7. Drain on paper towel
  • 8. Dice and chop all topping ingredients
  • 9. Preheat grill
  • 10. Place chopped meat and sausage in a large mixing bowl, add in chili powder and mix until just mixed through (do not over mix)
  • 11. Make 6 patties, season burgers with a generous amount of salt and pepper
  • 12. Cook burgers on the preheated grill on medium-high heat for about 3 minutes on each side, or until almost cooked through, only flipping once during cooking
  • 13. Place 2 slices of cheese on each burger, close grill lid to melt cheese
  • 14. Remove burgers and let rest a couple of minutes
  • 15. Place a burger on each Kaiser roll bottom, evenly add fries to each burger, top each evenly with cheese sauce, bacon, red onions, scallions, tomatoes, peppers and lettuce
  • 16. Drizzle each with sour cream
  • 17. Top each burger with a top roll and serve. Enjoy!
