Grilled Sante Fe Burgers

Ingredients

1 & 1/2 -lb's lean ground beef
1 & 1/2 -cups four mexican cheese blend
3/4 – cup of your favorite salsa
1/4 cup plus 1/8 cup crushed resturant styled tortilla chips
1/4 cup plus 1/8 cup chopped green onion
1 & 1/2 tsp -chili powder
1 & 1/2 tsp -cumin
1 & 1/2 tsp -garlic salt
romaine lettuce and roma tomatoes(optional)
6 – hambuger buns toasted on the grill
* reserve out 6 TBS of the salsa one TBS to put on top of each burger when fully cooked before serving & some of the cheeses for the top of the burger (optional)

 

Instructions

Get a large glass mixing bowl Put ground beef in bowl and add all other ingredients in order as called for using your hands fold meet together until all ingredients are mixed well. Form 6 -balls making sure they are about the same size. Using wax paper flatten out ball into a pattie not too thin just medium size put on a grilling platter until all six burger patties are formed then put on a hot pre -heated grill and cook @ 350 for about 7 -8 min on each side. Check with a meet themometer they will be done when the themometer reads 170. While waiting for burgers to get cooked grill buns toasting lightly brown. When you bring burgers off put on bun & top imediately with cheese and salsa and let and tomato if desired. Enjoy
