Hot HOT Mango Avocado Burger
HOT MANGO RELISH
1 small mango, pelled, seeded and cut into large chunks
1/4 red onion
5-10 dashes Luisiana Hot Sause
2 TBSP packed brown sugar
1/4 tsp ground Jamaican ginger
2 lbs 93% ground beef
1 tsp salt
2 tsp dry mustard
1/4 c Sutter Home Pinot Grigio
2 cups rolled oats
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 egg, lightly beaten
2/3 c MANGO RELISH
Olive oil to brush grill
8 oz spray bottle filled with Suter Home Pinot Grigio
6 Whole Wheat Hamburger Buns
Sweet Pickly relish
1 Beefsteak Tomatoe
1 med mango, peeled, seeded and thinly sliced
3 California Hass avocados, peeled, seeded and thinly sliced
Prepare charcoal grill for medium-hot direct heat cooking
FOR MANGO HOT SAUCE RELISH: In food processor or blender coarsly shop mango and red onion. Blend in Lousiana Hot Sauce, lime juice, brown sugar and ground ginger. Cover and chill until ready to use.
FOR BURGERS: In medium bowl break up ground beef with a fork. Add salt, dry mustard, Pinot Grigio,rolled oats, brown sugar, egg and mango relish. Thoroughly mix together and form into six patties.
Brush grill rack with olive oil and cook patties over medium hot coals until cooked through, about 5 minutes on each side. Flip only once and spray edge of coals with Pinot Grigio once during final minutes of cooking time.
during the last 2 minutes of grilling patties, toast buns over direct heat until ligtly browned. Remove buns from direct heat and keep warm.
TO ASSEMBLE BURGERS:
Spread on bottom bun sweet pickle relish, ketsup and mustard and place patty on bun. Layer tomato, mango, and avocado slices on top of patty and add bun top. Serve with a Sutter Home Chardonnay or Merlot.
