It’s A Dilly

Cabernet Sauvignon

This rich red easily complements your homemade chicken dishes, red meats, game, and mildly seasoned pastas.


1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 Tab prepared horseradish – drained
1 Tab dried dill
1/2 tsp salt
1 large red onion thinly sliced
1 cup Sutter Cabernet Sauvignon
3 Tab pickled beet juice
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 cup rye crumbs
3 oz bleu cheese crumbles
1 Tab dried dill
1 tsp salt
freshly ground pepper
marbled rye bread – toasted
leaf lettuce
pickled beets



Combine sauce ingredients and chill. Combine onions, wine and pickled beet juice. Cook slowly until liquid is absorbed and the onions are carmelized and tender. Set aside. Combine all burger ingredients. Form into six patties and grill 3-4 minutes on each side for a medium doneness. Set aside and grill bread. Spread sauce on two slices of bread. Place, burger, then onions, pickled beets, lettuce and top with another slice of toasted bread. Eat.
