Jamaican Beef Patties with Fried Plantain & Mango Salsa

Pairs well with:

White Merlot

Imagine sipping a lighter Merlot. This fresh, pale-pink wine is a nice change from traditional red or white wines.

Ingredients

1 1/2 lbs. ground sirloin
1/8 C. Beef Stock
1/8 C Jerk Seasoning
Oil for frying
2 Plantains, sliced thin on a diagonal
2 Mangos
1 Bunch Cilantro, chopped
1 red onion, finely chopped
1/3 C. fresh or frozen corn
1 jalapeno pepper, minced
1/2 c. diced red pepper
1 Tbsp. fresh lime juice
garlic salt
Focaccia Rolls
Oil for grilling

 

Instructions

1. Heat Oil for frying to 375 2. Combine Ground Silroin, beef stock, & jerk seasoning and set aside 3. Take plantains and fry in oil until golden brown 4. combine mangoes, cilantro, red onion, corn, jalapeno, red pepper, and lime juice. 5. Add dash of garlic salt, and set mixture aside. 6. Form meat mixutre into beef patties and grill until perfect medium 7. Slice focaccia rolls and heat on the grill 8. Place burgers on heated rolls, and top with plantains & mango salsa
