Kaumana Buger

2# ground sirloin
1 5 oz. portuguese sausage or other smoked sausage
1 package onion soup mix
6 portuguese sweet bread buns or other sweet buns
1 egg
splash of worcestershire sauce and hot sauce
2 T soy sauce
2 vine ripen tomatoes
2 heads Manoa lettuce or butter lettuce
1 Maui onion or other sweet onion
2 stalks of green onion
3 cloves garlic
salt and pepper to taste
6 slices of muenster cheese
yellow mustard/ketchup/mayo to taste


preheat grill
wash and dry vegetables
slice tomatoes into 6 slices for top of burgers
slice onions into 6 rounds for burger tops and dice the rest
chop green onions
dice garlic
dice sausage
separate lettuce leaves for burger tops
Mix ground sirloin, sausage, onion mix, egg, sweet and green onions, garlic, splash of worestershire and hot sauce, salt and pepper to taste.
Separate burger mixture into 6 patties slightly larger than buns.
Grill burger patties over medium high heat to desired doneness.
Just prior to doneness splash each burger with soy sauce and top with cheese.
Toast buns on grill.
Remove buns & burgers from grill and build by layering bottom bun with mayo & mustard to taste, burger, slice sweet onion, lettece, tomato, and ketchup to taste.
Open wide and enjoy.
