Mam-Mom’s Meatloaf Burgers

Pairs well with:


Bright and full-bodied, this Zinfandel wine is a curious contradiction in tastes.


2 slices white bread
1 1/2 lb. meatloaf mix (1 lb gr beef, 1/4 ib gr veal, 1/4 lb gr pork) 1/4 c chopped onion
1 T chopped parsley
1 egg, slightly beaten
2 T ketchup
1/2 t. salt
1/4 t. black pepper
3 T milk
6 slices sharp cheddar cheese
6 potato rolls
bread and butter sweet pickles



1. Preheat gas grill to medium heat. 2. Remove crust from bread and shread into small pieces by hand into a large bowl. 3. Add to the bread the meat,onion, parsley, egg, ketchup, salt and pepper. 4. Combine well using your hands. 5. Add the milk and mix with a fork. 6. Divide into 6 patties. 7. Place on grill and cook for 6-8 minutes per side.(covered) 8. Add cheese and cover to melt. 9. Remove from grill and turn off gas. 10. Place split rolls on grates for a few moments to lightly toast and warm. 11. Place burgers on rolls and garnish with ketchup and sweet pickles. 12. Enjoy!!!
