Mama-meeah, That’s Italian! Burgers
2/3 c Tomato Paste
1 clove Garlic, finely chopped
1/2 c Cottage Cheese
1/4 ts Basil Leaves, finely chopped
2 tb Miracle Whip Lite
1/2 ts Salt
1/4 ts Pepper
1 ts Oregano, finely chopped
1 ts dried Parsley
1/4 c Mozzarella Cheese
2 tb shredded Parmesan Cheese
1 lb Ground Beef
1/2 lb Owens Italian Sausage
1/2 ts Salt
Vegetable Oil Spray for grill
5 fresh Potato Hamburger Buns
Mix the Tomato Paste, Garlic, Cottage Cheese, Basil Leaves, Miracle Whip Lite, Salt, Pepper, Oregano,
and dried Parsley in a bowl. Measure 2/3 cups and place in a separate bowl. Set aside.
Add Mozzarella Cheese and Parmesan Cheese to the original Tomato Paste mixture and place in a
sauce pan to heat thoroughly. Once hot, keep it warm until the burgers are done.
Add the Ground Beef, Owens Italian Sausage, and Salt to the 2/3 cup of the prepared Tomato Paste mixture you had set aside. Blend these ingredients thoroughly. Form into 5 burgers about 3/4 inch thick.
Spray the grill with vegetable oil before grilling. Grill the burgers for 13 minutes or until desired doneness
has been reached, turning occasionally.
Toast the buns.
Place a large dollop of the Tomato Paste mixture on the buns before placing the burgers on them.
