  • 3 tablespoons of premade mac n cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1 Teaspoon garlic
  • 1 Teaspoon salt
  • 1 Teaspoon pepper
  • Oil (for frying)
  • 1 pretzel roll bun
  • Toppings (lettuce, pickles, tomato, whatever you prefer)

Instructions

  • NOTE:
  • Just multiply the recipe per person for the amount of burgers you want.
  • If you want 6 burgers, make sure you have 6 buns, 12 patties, etc.
  • Presteps:
  • Heat enough oil to fry in a pan, and start heating up your grill
  • Step 1:
  • Hold one patty in your hand, and shape the white cheddar and american cheese into the center of the meat.
  • Place the other patty on top and crimp the edges together to keep cheese and melting juices locked inside.
  • Step 1a: Start cooking your burger.
  • I prefer mine medium well, because I don’t like a lot of pink.
  • For medium well, cook on one side for 3 minutes and the 2nd side for 6 minutes.
  • Season patty with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Step 2: Follow your favorite homemade mac n cheese recipe or use a store bought mac n cheese to get about 3 tablespoons of prepared mac n cheese.
  • Make sure it is not too juicy, as we will be frying this.
  • Step 3:
  • Combine 1 Cup panko with 1 Teaspoon salt, 1 Teaspoon pepper and 1 Teaspoon garlic
  • Step 4: Beat 1 egg until the white and yolk are combined.
  • Step 5: Form 3 Tablespoon of mac n cheese into a ball.
  • Dip and roll in seasoned panko.
  • Dip into egg wash.
  • Dip back into panko and then place gently and carefully into hot oil to fry the ball.
  • It should only take 3-5 minutes to fry your mac n cheese to a golden brown color.
  • Step 6: Once your burger is cooked and the mac ball fried, assemble!
  • Pretzel bun bottom, 1 tablspoon melty cheese sauce, lettuce, tomato, 1 slice of cheese, burger patty, 2 tablespoons melty cheese sauce, 2 slices of cheese, fried mac ball, bun top.
  • ENJOY!
