Maui Waui Manapua Beef Burger

Ingredients

Sauce
161/2ozs of crushed pineapples drained
2/3 cup of Sutter Home White Zinfandel
2 chopped medium mangos
1 cup chopped red pepper
2 tablespoons chopped green onion
1 teaspoon red pepper flake
2 tablespoons of flour
Vegetable oil for grill
Burger
3lbs fresh ground sirloin
1/2 cup hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon finely chopped ginger
1 cup of crushed seaweed rice crackers
1 teaspoon sweet rice cooking wine
1 teaspoon pure seasame oil
6 Seasame seed buns

 

Instructions

Prepare a medium-hot fire in a charcoal grill with a cover, or preheat a gas grill to medium-high. Prepare Maui Waui Sauce. In large bowl mix together; pineapples, White Zinfandel, mangos, chopped red peppers, chopped green onions, red pepper flakes. Stir in flour. Place in large suace pan and cook over medium-hot fire for approximately 10-15 minutes until sauce becomes nice and thick. Remove sauce from burner and cover. Pepare burgers. Place meat in large bowl. Add hoisin sauce, chopped ginger, crushed crackers, sweet rice cooking wine, and seasame oil. Mix all ingredients well. Form 6 patties. When the grill is ready, brush the grill rack with vegetable oil. Place the patties on the rack, cover, and cook, turning once, until done to preference, 7-10 minutes on each side. During the last few minutes of grilling, cut buns and place on grill and cook until them become lightly toasted. Remove buns from grill and top with burgers. Add Maui Waui Sauce. And top with bun top.
