MEDATERANIAN BURGERS

Ingredients

Patties
1.5 pounds-Ground chuck
.25 pounds-Chopped snow crab meat ( Save as much juice as possible)
1 teaspoon-Chopped fresh Oregano
3 tablespoons-Extra virgin olive oil
2 teaspoons-Grated parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon-Chopped fresh basil
1 teaspoon-Lemon juice
1 Vidalia onion finely chopped
2 teaspoons-Salt
2 teaspoons-Freshly ground black pepper
2 cloves-Finely chopped garlic
.25 pounds-Finely chopped button mushrooms
3 cups-Italian seasoned bread crumbs
Lemon wine Alfredo sauce
1 teaspoon-Extra virgin olive oil
1 cup-Grated parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon-Chopped fresh basil
2 tablespoon-White wine
1 cup-Sour cream
1 tea spoon-Lemon juice
2 teaspoons-Salt
1 teaspoon-Freshly ground black pepper
2 cloves-Finely chopped garlic
Bread
1 teaspoon-Chopped fresh oregano
2 tablespoons-Extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon-Grated parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon-Chopped fresh basil
1 teaspoon-Freshly ground black pepper
3 cloves-Finely chopped garlic

3 loaves-Italian bread with sesame seeds

 

Instructions

Preheat a gas grill to medium-high.

First take the loaves of sesame seeded Italian bread and cut the ends off and discard. Then cut the remainder of the loaves into 3 equal portions each. ( You want to do this first so you get an idea how to shape the burger patties.

To make the patties, combine all of the ingredients accept for 2 cups of the bread crumbs in a large bowl. Get as much crab meat juice as possible into the bowl. Mix well. Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and form the portions into oval patties to fit the bread slices. Take a shallow pan and put the 2 cups of bread crumbs in it. Lightly coat each patty with the bread crumbs. Set aside.

To make the sauce combine all of the ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Set aside.

To prepare the bread combine all of the ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
After the loaves of bread have been split use a brush to equally distribute the mixture from the bowl onto the halves. Set aside.

When the grill is ready, brush the grill rack with extra virgin olive oil. Place the patties on the rack, cover, and cook about 3 minutes. Turn the patties. Put equal portions of the sauce on each pattie, cover, and cook about 6 minutes. During the last minute of cooking, place each half loaf of bread, cut side down, on the outer edges of the rack to toast evenly and lightly.

To assemble the burgers, on each bread bottom, place a patty. Add the bread tops and serve.
