Place all cheese spread ingredients in a medium bowl except for the gorgonzola. Fold together gently until well blended. Manually crumble the cheese into the spread and fold in. (The crumbled cheese should be small to medium sized chunks.) Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and set in the refrigerator whle making the burgers.

Preheat gas grill to medium high heat and brush grates with olive oil.

Place patties on grill and cover. Cook for 5 minutes on each side.

While burgers are cooking, slice the tomato in 6 slices and the cucumbers and red onion thinly. Season the tomato and cucumber lightly with the Mediterranean sea salt. Pull apart red leaf lettuce into burger pieces sized for the burgers.

When burgers are cooked, place a generous amount of gorgonzola cheese spread on each one and place them on the warming rack of he grill. Close grill while you slice the buns and brush each side with olive oil. Brown the insides of the bun on the grill until lightly toasted. By this time the cheese spread on the burgers should be warmed. (The cheese chunkswill not completely melt.)
