Merlot Marinated Monsters

3 lbs Ground Chuck
2 TBS Minced Garlic
2 Minced Shallots
1 Chopped Mediium Onion
2 lbs Sliced Mushrooms
2 Cups Merlot Wine
4 TBS Unsalted Butter
12 Slices of Swiss Cheese
6 Large Kaiser Buns


To make patties, combind ground chuck, 1 1/2 TBS of the minced garlic, the chopped onion, and 3/4 cup of the merlot wine. Divide meat mixture into 6( yes 6) patties. Grill patties over a open flame, to an internal tempature of 155 degrees or higher to your liking.

In a sauce pan, saute shallots and 1/2 TBS garlic in the 4 TBS of butter for 30 secs then add mushrooms and 1 1/4 cup of merlot wine. Stir occasionaly to insure all the mushroom get to enjoy the merlot bath. Cook until mushrooms are tender.

Plate each burger on a large Kaiser bun with a generous helping of mushrooms and 2 slices of swiss.
