Merlot Mushroom Burger

Pairs well with:

White Merlot

Imagine sipping a lighter Merlot. This fresh, pale-pink wine is a nice change from traditional red or white wines.


1 lb. ground beef
1 C Italian bread crumbs
2 T butter
1 C sliced mushrooms (or more)
1/2 C sliced onions
1 T flour
1 T garlic salt
1 C "Sutter Home White Merlot"
Hamburger buns
garnishes for burger (lettuce, mustard, etc.)



Make patties from mixing beef and Italian bread crumbs together. Put on BBQ and cook until they are the desired doneness. On the stove, melt butter in a medium sized pan. When melted, add in mushrooms and onions and let simmer for a time until onions begin to caramelize. When done, add the flour and let cook for a time to take away the uncooked taste. After the time, add the garlic salt and "White Merlot" to the pan. The mixture will become thick after letting it cook for a bit. Stir and watch until it looks done. Use your hamburger buns and put a burger, top with the "White Merlot" mushroom sauce and desired garnishes, and enjoy!!
