Minneapolis Tavern Burger

Zinfandel

Bright and full-bodied, this Zinfandel wine is a curious contradiction in tastes.

Ingredients

1. 4 Kaiser buns- cut in half
2.melted butter- for the buns
3. 4- 1/3 lb. Prepared beef patty burgers- grilled to medium
4. 2 Yellow onions, sliced
5. 1 stick butter
6. 2 T. sugar salt and pepper to season
Creamy Dijon Sauce Sauce Ingredients:
7. 1/2 cup sour cream
8. 1/2 cup prepared mayonnaise
9. 1/4 cup rustic style grain Dijon mustard
10.2 tsp. honey
11.1/2 tsp. Lemon juice
12.1/2 tsp. White pepper pinch
13.Cayenne pepper (pinch generous for more spice!)
14. Arugula lettuce

 

Instructions

Cut the buns in half, brush with melted butter and grill until golden brown. Cook hamburger patties until medium. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and melt 1 stick of butter in the pan. Add the onions, 2 T. white sugar, 1 tsp. salt and pepper, and 3/4 cup water. Cover the pan and cook the onions, stirring occassionally, until they reach a deep and golden brown color. Let cool. Sauce Directions In a bowl, mix together the sour cream and mayonnaise until combined. Add the Dijon mustard and mix it in until it is evenly dispersed. Add the remaining 4 ingredients, stir well, set aside. Wash arugula lettuce,and pat dry. To Assemble: Spread each side of the kaiser bun with the dijon cream sauce, top with a hamburger patty, the caramelized onions, and about 1/8 cup arugula lettuce. ENJOY!
