Montana Gold Rush Burger

1 gold onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, crushed
1 lb extra lean ground beef
3 carrots, finely chopped
6oz mushrooms, sliced
3 stalks celery, slices
4oz crushed tomatoes
1/2 T tomato paste
2 teaspoons dried Montana herbs-basil and thyme
1/4 cup beef stock
1/3 cup Sutter Home white wine
Salt and freshly ground pepper



Place onion and garlic in a large saucepan and cook over low heat. Add carrots, mush rooms and celery to the pan and cook 5 minutes. Stir in tomatoes, tomato paste, mixed herbs, stock, wine, salt and pepper mix well. Pour ingredients into large glass bowl and cool. Add ground beef to mixture and blend ingredients with fork. Make into large patties and cook over medium heat until desired preparation. Garnish with basil sprigs.
