Monte Cristo Spicy Burgers With Hot Mustard
Ingredients
- 80/20 beef
- chuck
- 1 Teaspoon pepper
- 1 Teaspoon salt
- 2 Tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 1 Teaspoon garlic salt
- 1/2 Cup hot mustand
- 12 slices of swiss
- 12 slices good quality ham
- 12 slices quality turkey
- 12 slices texas toast
- 1/4 Cup melted butter
- 1/2 Cup raspberry jelly
- The Dipping mixture:
- 1 Cup flour
- 1 egg
- 1Tablespoon baking powder
- 1 Tablespoon sugar
- 1/4 Teaspoon salt
- 1 Cup water
- 1 small can drained jalapenos
Instructions
- 1. In large bowl, mix hamburger, garlic salt, salt, pepper and Worcestershire, form 6 patties and set aside
- 2. in a large mixing bowl, all the egg and beat with whisk. Add in the flour, sugar salt and water. Whisk until smooth.
- 3. Brush each side of the burgers with butter and start to grill.
- 4. Cook each burger 5-6 minutes on each side per 1/2 inch of thickness, or until grill reaches 160
- 5. Apply 2 slices of swiss to each burger, just to start to melting
- 6. Brush each side of each texas toast and place on grill for one minute on each side
- 7. Take bottom bun, add hot mustard, place on ham, hamburger and spread more hot mustard to bottom of top texas toast. Place large toothpicks thru the burger to hold together.
- 8. Dip sandwich into jalapeno mixture, making sure every side is covered
- 9. Place 11/2 inch of cooking oil in a sauce pan. When it reaches medium heat, start cooking the sandwiches for several minutes on each side, until golden brown
- 10. Dry on cooling rack to drain
- 11. Smear lightly with the raspberry jelly
- 12. Remove toothpicks and enjoy
