Mouthwatering Colonial Inspired Beef Burgers with German Beer Bratwurst topped with French Brie Cheese and smothered by a Northeastern Cranberry-Apple Maple-Roasted Pecan Mayonnaise with a touch of White Merlot

For Northeastern Cranberry-Apple-Maple Roasted Pecan-White Merlot Mayonnaise
4 oz dried cranberries
4 oz dried sliced apples
2/3 cup of White Merlot
2/3 cup of Mayonnaise
½ cup of Maple Roasted Pecans, chopped
1 lemon, juiced and zested

For Burgers
2 pounds of ground beef
3 links of Johnsonville Pork Beer Brat Sausages, or any other brand of beer brat sausages, casings removed
1 small onion, minced
1 medium clove of garlic, minced
2 tablespoons of Worcestershire Sauce
½ pound of Brie Cheese

Buns & Toppings
4 tablespoons of butter
6 potato roll hamburger buns, soft variety
6 oz of butter lettuce
2 tomatoes, sliced
1 red onion, thinly sliced



Add your dried cranberries and dried apples to a medium sized bowl. Pour your white merlot on top of the dried cranberries and apples to hydrate them. Let the mixture sit until you are ready to assemble your burgers (about 25 minutes). After mixture has set and you are ready to assemble burgers, remove fruit from liquid and add fruit to the mayonnaise. Then add your chopped maple roasted pecans to mixture. Squeeze a couple of drops (1 tablespoon) of lemon juice and some lemon zest into the mixture.

In a large bowl combine your ground beef, your crumbled beer brat sausages, minced onion, garlic and Worcestershire sauce. Make patties into six burgers. Season the burgers with salt and pepper on each side. Cook on the grill for 7 minutes on each side over medium heat, flipping once. When burger have cooked for 14 minutes place a slice of brie cheese on top on continue cooking for an additional 4 minutes. After 4 minutes have passed remove the burgers from the grill and prepare to assemble the burgers.

Butter each side of your hamburger buns and grill until buns are lightly toasted (about 2 minutes.) On the bottom of the bun place your lettuce, then your tomato, your sliced onion, and then your grilled burger. On the other bun slather your Northeastern Cranberry-Apple-Maple Roasted Pecan-White Merlot Mayonnaise on the top bun. Join the two buns together and serve.
