Mushroom Vege-Burgers

You won’t need a bouquet of flowers when you share our Pinot Grigio. This crisp wine with floral aromas is a wonderful way to make an entrance.

Ingredients

Burger Content
1/2 cup sauteed onions
1/2 cup sauteed celery
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1/8 teaspoon cumin
1/8 teaspoon coriander
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
4 tablespoons Colavita Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 20 oz. can Worthington
Vegetarian Burger
1 cup quick oats
2 eggs or 4 egg whites
1/2 cup Vegetable oil for grilling
Outside Burger Content
8 Whole Wheat Buns
2 cups sauteed sliced white Mushrooms
8 slices medium Cheddar cheese
16 thin slices fresh avocado
8 slice large beefsteak tomato
8 teaspoons light mayonnaise

 

Instructions

Heat the gas grill to medium-high. Combine the onions, celery, 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt, cumin, coriander, pepper and saute in a medium skillet in two tablespoons olive oil over the grill and set aside. Then combine the burger, oats and eggs/egg whites and add the sauteed mixture together and form patties. Saute the mushrooms in two tablespoons of olive oil adding the other 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt and keep warm. Grill the patties on the brushed with vegetable oil grill for 4 minutes turning once until deep golden brown. Toast the whole wheat buns and then put mayo, tomato slice, burger, cheese, mushrooms, fresh avocado slices between the buns and enjoy.
