The Northwest Burger is a great local burger because it contains a medley of flavorful ingredients that are available to us in our local supermarkets! The Northwest
Burger is a joy to the tastebuds. Here in the Northwest barbecuing is one of the great pleasures of summer. My husband and I still enjoy our Weber charcoal barbecue that was given to us as a wedding present 21 years ago.

Ingredients:

1 and a half pounds of hamburger
3 Tablespoons of Lea & Perrines Worcestershire Sauce
1 and a half Tablespoons Tabasco Brand Chipotle Pepper Sauce
12 slices of bacon
3 links of Johnsonville Italian Sausage Mild
Half of a teaspoon salt
Half of a teaspoon pepper
1 egg
1 Tablespoon Colavita Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Three quarters of a cup onion
Three quarters of a cup Sutter Home Cabernet Sauvignon Wine
Three quarters of a cup fennel
One and a half cups sliced mushroom
2 cups of Progresso Bread Crumbs Plain
6 Barbecue Sized Hamburger Buns

Instructions:

In a large pan, cook over medium heat on a gas grill the sausage, mushroom, onion, fennel, wine and oil for 10 minutes. Cover with lid. Remove the lid, cook uncovered for 10 minutes. Drain those ingredients in a colander, pat with paper towels to remove excess liquid and chop. In a separate frying pan on a gas grill cook the bacon for 20 minutes over medium heat. Chop up 6 slices of the bacon reserving the remaining 6 slices to top the burgers with. Mix the sausage mixture, hamburger, chopped bacon, worcestershire sauce, chipotle sauce, salt, pepper, egg, breadcrumbs together and form into patties.
Avocado spread:
1 avocado Handgrown in California
One quarter of a teaspoon of Tabasco Brand Chipotle Pepper Sauce
1 teaspoon of Tabasco Brand Coarse Ground Mustard
4 Tablespoons of Americas Treasure Cave Blue Cheese
Pinch of Salt and Pepper
Blend all ingredients, until smooth, with a hand blender
Preparation and cook time for this recipe is 1 hour and 15 minutes. The time broken down is: 36 minutes cook time and 39 minutes preparation time.
For Burger Barbecuing:
Grill burgers 8 minutes on each side, or until minimally a 160 degrees.
For Burger Presentation:
Place the burgers on their bottem buns. Spread 1 and half Tablespoons of avocado condiment on each burger top and then layer one slice of bacon (halved) on top of burger. Place top bun on top of burger. Secure with a toothpick.
