Orange Peel Beef Burger

This rich red easily complements your homemade chicken dishes, red meats, game, and mildly seasoned pastas.

Ingredients

4 Large Scallions – Chopped
4 Garlic Cloves – Minced
Orange Zest of one large Orange
Orange Juice from one large Orange
1 Tbl Hoison Sauce
½ Tbl Soy Sauce
½ Tbl Thai Sweet Chili Sauce
1 Tsp Cracked Black Pepper
2.25 lb. Ground Sirloin
One Bag Angel Hair Shredded Slaw
6 Large Flour Tortillas

 

Instructions

Chop Green Onion and mince garlic place in large mixing bowl. Zest the orange then squeeze juice into the mixing bowl. Add the Hoisin Sauce, Soy Sauce, Sweet Chili Sauce and cracked black pepper to the bowl and mix well. Reserve half of the sauce to be used later. Add the beef to the mixing bowl, mix well then evenly divide into 6 patties.

Grill Patties on Med High heat for 10 minutes, then flip and grill for approx 5 minutes more depending on doness required.

While patties grill, in heat proof metal backing pan add bag of shredded slaw and the remaining sauce mixture that had been set aside. Place pan on top rack of grill and heat until mixture is warm all the way through, stirring occasionally.

Once patties are done, open flour tortillas. Place one patty on each flour tortilla, top with slaw mixture and fold edges in to close, then turn folded side down on to plate. Let sit for a couple of minutes then slice in half and serve.
