Zinfandel

Bright and full-bodied, this Zinfandel wine is a curious contradiction in tastes.

Ingredients

4.5 lbs. ground sirloin
1.5 lbs. smoked gouda cheese with bacon, cut into 1/4 inch cubes
2 lbs. button mushrooms, minced
2 sweet white onions, minced
6 large sesame seed buns
1 head of green leaf lettuce
6 medium carrots, shredded
2 medium tomatoes, generously sliced

 

Instructions

Make six large sirloin balls.
In separte bowl add 1tsp minced onions, 2 TBSP minced mushrooms and 2 TBSP cubed cheese. Add sirloin ball and mix by hand, then shape in to plump hamburger patty. Repeat for each patty.
Preheat gas grill, reduce heat to medium. Place patties on grill, cover and grill 10-12 minutes, turning once.
For each burger layer on bun as follows. 1/2 Bun, large piece of lettuce, hamburger, 2-3 TBSP shredded carrots, 1 slice of tomato and remaining 1/2 of bun.
Ketchup, mustard and other condiments as desired.
