Pork Burger with Crunch Apple Slaw

Ingredients

2-1/2 cups peeled and shredded apples, divided
2 tablespoons of lemon juice
1 pound ground pork
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup plain yogurt
2 tablespoons orange juice (w/out pulp)
2 tablespoons sugar
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 10-ounce bag of preshredded coleslaw with carrots
6 Hamburger rolls

 

Instructions

Mix together all shredded apples with lemon juice – set aside. In mixing bowl combine ground pork, 1 cup shredded apples, and 1/2 teaspoon of cinammon. Shape into 6 patties. Grill patties 5-7 minutes on each side until meat is no longer pink. While burgers are cooking make the dressing for the apple slaw. Combine plain yogurt, orange juice, sugar, remaining cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir together until sugar is dissolved. In a large bowl combine coleslaw mix, remaining shredded apples, and dressing mixture and mix well. Lightly toast hanburger buns. Place burger on bottom half of bun, place a heaping spoonful of apple slaw on top (enough to cover top of burger)and cover with top of bun.
