Red Onion Turkey Burger with Peach Ginger Teriyaki Relish

White Zinfandel

With strawberry and melon essences, this American original is perfectly at home with however you like to unwind.


2 lbs ground white turkey breast
1 tbsp Teriyaki sauce
1/2 small red onion chopped
1 tsp coarse salt
1/2 tsp fresh ground black pepper
1tbsp olive oil
3 ripe peaches, peeled, pitted and chopped
1 tsp fresh ginger, peeled and minced
1 tbsp Teriyaki sauce
1 cup mayonnaise
6 Kaiser rolls, halved
2 tbsp olive oil



Preheat grill to medium. In a large mixing bowl, mix together turkey, sauce, onion, salt and pepper. Shape into 6 burgers and set aside. In a grill proof medium saute pan heat 1 tbsp olive oil for 30 seconds. Add to pan, peaches and ginger. Cook 5 minutes stirring fresquently. Add sauce and continue cooking 1 minutes. remove and cool. Stir in mayonnaise and mix well. Increase heat to medium high. Grill burger 5 to 6 minutes each side or until just cooked through. One minutes before burgers done, brush rolls with olive oil and toast lightly on grill. Remove and spread tops and bottoms with relish. Place burgers on roll bottoms, top with roll tops and serve.
