3 lb lean ground beef
1/2 cup diced white onion
24 oz sour kraut
1 1/2 cup Sutter Home pinot grigio
2 tbs butter
1tsp cayenne pepper
1 red onion
1/2 lb baby Swiss cheese
6 tbs thousand island dressing
6 white buns
in med sauce pan combine pino grigio , butter and cayenne. bring to boil and reduce for 15 min.
Drain your kraut of any water, combine it with your reduced white wine sauce. Cover kraut and leave on low heat for 15 min.
mix diced onion with ground beef. Make six 1/2 lb beef patties, salt and pepper
slice red onion
heat your grill on medium high to 600 degrees
grill patties 8 min each side. place the Swiss on for the last 2 min.
heat buns on grill for 1 min each
Put thousand island on both sides of your bun. Here is the order for the ingredients to go on. Bottom bun, the patty with melted Swiss, next put 4 full rings of fresh red onion, followed by a heaping spoon white whine sour kraut, and top bun.
