Roasted Garlic Mozzarella Stuffed Burgers

Ingredients

2 lbs Ground Chuck 80/20
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/3c Sutterhome Merlot
2 eggs
2/3 cups bread crumbs
2 Tbsp Roasted Garlic
6 slices Thick fresh Mozzarella
6 Sesame Seed Buns
1 Tbsp Butter
Merlot Onions:
1/2 vidalia onion sliced thin
1 tsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Merlot to simmer onions in cast iron skillet
Mayonnaise
Grey Poupon Mustard
Sweet Green Relish

 

Instructions

1)Place the hamburger in a large bowl mix in onion powder, eggs, merlot, bread crumbs and the roasted garlic. 2)Let meat sit 1 hr. 3)Make 12 patties about 1/2" thick place the slice of mozzarella onto one of the patties and then place another pattie on top, press the edges of the two patties together, so the chesse will not leak out during cooking. 4)In the cast iron skillet add 1 tsp extra virgin olive oil, and enough merlot to cover the bottom of the skillet. One the wine starts to steam and the onions. 5)Place hamburgers on grill and cook 10 mins per side, only turning hamburgers once. 6)onions and hamburgers will be ready at the same time. 7)When the hamburgers are done remove and let rest, butter the buns and place on the grill to toast. 8)Serve with Mayonaise, Grey Poupon Mustard and Mt. Olive sweet green relish.
