Salt of the Earth Beach Burgers

2 1/2 pounds ground beef (85% percent lean)
1/4 cup coarse sea salt (divided us)
2 Tablespoons ground black pepper (divided use)
1/4 cup extra Colavita extra virgin olive oil (divided use)
1/3 cup yellow mustard
1 small yellow onion, chopped finely
1-6 count package (oversize) white flour hamburger buns.



Preheat a Gas Grill to high heat.

By hand separate the ground beef into six equal portions.

Shape each ground beef portion into six-2 ½ 3 inch thickness round beef patties.

Sprinkle each patty with 1 teaspoon coarse sea salt, 1 teaspoon ground black pepper; next drizzle 2 teaspoons Colavita’s extra virgin olive oil onto each patty.

Reduce the grill’s temperature to high medium heat.
Next place patties onto preheated grill rack three inches apart.

Close grill cover. Grill patties 4 ½ minutes each side turning only one time during grilling.

Meanwhile finely chop the yellow onion. Transfer chopped onion into a small mixing bowl, stir in 2 Tablespoons coarse sea salt.

Remove patties from grill one at a time; and place onto the bottom portion of the roll.

Spoon 1 Tablespoon yellow mustard to inner portion of each roll tops.

Spoon 1 1/2 Tablespoons of sea salted chopped yellow onion on top each grilled. Add roll top to cover; and Gently press together.

Serve Salt of the Earth Beach Burgers hot from the grill.
