Sassy Meatloaf Burgers

BBQ Sauce:
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
½ cup packed brown sugar
¼ cup cider vinegar
1 teaspoon dry mustard
2 pounds ground beef
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup quick cooking oats
1 small yellow onion, chopped
1 medium green pepper, chopped
½ cup water
1 ½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
2 cups quick cooking oats
3 teaspoons vegetable oil
½ cup mayonnaise
6 potato hamburger buns



In a small bowl combine tomato sauce, brown sugar, cider vinegar and dry mustard, set aside. In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, eggs, oats, onion, green pepper, water, salt, poultry seasoning, and parsley flakes. Add ½ of the sauce to the meat loaf mixture, mix well. Shape into 6 patties. Dredge patties with remaining instant oats until coated. Grease grill with oil. Grill burgers over low heat for 20-30 minutes. Mix remaining sauce with ½ cup mayonnaise. Set aside. Grill buns until warm. Spread sauce mixture on buns, top with burger. Serve.
